In a child’s development and emotional well-being, the role of the parent, family relationships, and the environment is key. With this in mind, the course presents— in a way that’s easy for everyone to understand—the psychodynamic way of thinking and its essential concepts, which are relevant both scientifically and from the perspective of current interventions.
The training provides a rich knowledge base for any professional or parent who thinks in terms of development and works with early childhood and youth, supporting high-quality work. The course material is also aimed at parents and includes very useful, child-rearing-focused information, with detailed developmental illustrations of the processes of different life stages and support for healthy development. We want to share modern information and perspectives on the stages of early childhood, early development, the parent-child relationship, young people’s mental and social development, their behavior, and the complex background behind how all of this develops. We want to give you a comprehensive picture of this important subfield of childhood intervention: the importance of supporting children’s mental health and a few key questions around it.
During the course, we’ll cover, among other things, problems that endanger mental health, the mental and social stages of development, applying communication methods with young people, using solution-focused brief coaching and the Kids’ Skills method, an introduction to coaching processes, knowing competency boundaries, and—last but not least—special methods and tools. We put together a body of knowledge that provides useful information and know-how for every professional and parent.
